As an Electrical Drafter, the successful candidate will be an integral part of our team and will assist in the growth of the company. Depending on the candidate’s experience and aspirations, the role will include development of drafting standards, drafting, detailed design, completing specifications for projects, and more. This position is based in Grande Prairie.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on the candidate's experience and aspirations, the role may include the following in the context of an Industrial market sector:

  • Develop and refine existing drafting standards and tools
  • Designing, drafting, and reviewing electrical deliverables including (Single Line Diagrams, Panel Drawings, Electrical Layouts, Panel Schedules, Installation Details, Schematics, Cable Schedules
  • Participate in predesign meetings
  • Perform site visits as required
  • Review vendor shop drawings
  • Provide support during construction and commissioning

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registration with or eligible for registration with ASET
  • Minimum 1-5 years electrical design/drafting experience
  • Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD software
  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Sr. Control System Engineer/ Technologist

As a Control Systems Engineer, the successful candidate will be an integral part of our engineering team and will assist in the growth of the company. This position will be based in Grande Prairie.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITies  

  • Depending on the candidate's experience and aspirations, the role may include the following in the context of an Industrial market sector:
  • Provide technical expertise on all instrumentation and control system engineering activities.
  • Lead the design, development, testing, commissioning and on-going support of I&C projects.
  • Act as a core technical resource for project and support-related automation tasks including distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Remote Telemetry Units (RTU).
  • Provide both hardware expertise from conception through to execution and commissioning.
  • Develop physical and functional control system requirements based on discussions with the customer, data from piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and standard specifications.
  • Vendor evaluation and coordination
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers and technologists
  • Attend client meetings and site inspections
  • Assist in the development of company technical standards and procedures
  • Complete project management tasks and track project KPI’s

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with conventional Canadian oil and gas projects is required.
  • Strong programmable logic controller (PLC) design experience.
  • Professional registration with APEGA, or ASET.
  • At least 8 years applicable experience in an engineering environment.
  • Experience as lead designer or project manager on projects in the $50,000-$5,000,000 construction cost range is an asset.
